THE FISHING Average Catches: Catches have been very consistent over the last 3 fishing seasons at Agua Milpa. The only change has been been the fact that the average size has increased. Most clients will experience 80 to 100 fish per day, per boat. The bass will range from 2 to 6 pounds, and a number of clients will catch bass in the 7 to 9 pound range. The lake record stands at 11.08 pounds. There have been clients catch as many as 450 fish in one day. What you will be fishing: The fishing will range from 0 to 20 feet deep normally. You will be fishing ledges, drop offs, submerged islands, shorelines, rocks, brush, trees, points and rivers. There is no vegetation to speak of in the lake. You will be mostly concerned with fishing in brush and trees. The closer you can fish to the wood, the better success you will have. You will hear the guides say "palos" quite often. He will be telling you that there are a lot of branches in that particular area. In other words, there is a lot of wood structure. The normal visibilty of the water is 4 to 5 feet. The water tends to be an appealing green.
