LAKE AGUA MILPA MEXICO BASS FISHING

Mexico Bass Fishing Trips
for NUMBERS of Quality Bass.

THE LAKE

lake agua milpa mexico bass fishing lakes

This river basin lake is a man made tributary, spanning a total of 65 miles. Agua Milpa is full of rocks, trees, bluffs, creeks, river turns, points, ect. This tributary is full of bass ranging in a consistent size from 2 to 6 pounds. With some fish being caught in the 10 + pound range. The lake opened in 1997 for business and has shown its' self to be a major contender as one of the best bass lake available to the American fishermen. There is no doubt that Agua Milpa will only continue to produce large numbers of quality fish for the next several years.

Lake Agua Milpa is heavily surrounded by mountains up to 6,200 feet.

In 1988, construcion of the dam started on the Santiago river. The dam was completed in 1994. The dam was created for a hydroelectric plant. This lake is not used for local water consumption or irrigation.

In 1994, Billy Chapman Sr. stocked a small body of water at the base of the dam with 300,000 Florida Black Bass fingerlings. After this point in time, the lake was filled. Mr. Chapman returned to the lake in 1996 and fished all areas of the lake. He was able to catch Florida Bass in all areas of the lake. He also realized that the bass were growing at a very good rate. Knowing this, he decided to open up his operations on the lake in 1997, enabling American fishermen to enjoy one of the hotest and newest bass factories in Mexico.
