LAKE MATEOS - MEXICO BASS FISHING

The Finest Trophy Bass Fishing on Lake Mateos

LAKE MATEOS BASS LODGE

lake mateos mexico bass fishing lodgeLake Mateos Bass Lodge is located on a picturesque hillside overlooking the Humaya River. Constructed in 1986, and having recently undergone a major renovation and expansion, the lodge houses twenty guests. All rooms contain air-conditioning and have maid service twice daily. Our experienced cook and co-manager, Delfino, will serve you a variety of steak, fish, shrimp, barbecued chicken, and a special Mexican dinner during your stay. The food is the best you’ve ever had at a Mexican bass fishing lodge!

Also, Benny Ruiz will be with us as co-manager. Most all of our customers know Benny and Delfino from both Mateos and Huites. They each have over 20 years experience working with Americans in the fishing industry.

The lodge is the only existing fishing camp on the lake, meaning that unlike other crowded lakes in Mexico, these pristine waters are yours alone to fish. Located high into the Sierra Madre Mountain range, there are few distractions at Lake Mateos Bass Lodge.

The Lodge houses 20 guests. The rooms are extremely clean with private bathrooms and showers, pedestal sinks and American style elongated toilets (the Mexican versions are small!) Each room is individually air-conditioned as well. Maid service is provided twice daily. All of the furniture in the camp was handmade by local artists from eloquent Alamo wood.

The Perfect Fishing Location

The Lodge is situated overlooking the beautiful Humaya River only minutes away from our boat launch. Our fisherman can plan their own fishing schedules with a personal guide at their disposal. We also offer night fishing on occasion and are fully equipped with black lights and spot lights for each boat!

Catch and release is the prevailing rule at the lodge, with trophy bass photographed and quickly released.

Our chef has over 20 years experience working with American clients and understands their likes and dislikes, he will serve you a variety of delicious meals including of steak, fish, shrimp, barbecue chicken, and Mexican specialties during your stay. Dining is in our glass enclosed palapa dining room overlooking the river! Three meals are served daily in the central dining room. For you "hard core fisherman, a box lunch can be provided if you wish to fish all day.

We proudly believe that it is the finest trophy bass lake in Mexico today!

With the proper cooperation between commercial operators, lake officials and ourselves, Lake Mateos will soon earn it’s right as the "Premier-Bass-Angling-Destination" in the entire world.

Tipping Policy

We have no established tipping policy. We leave it totally up to you. For your information, the average recommended minimum guide tip is $20 per boat each day ($10 per fisherman for your Guide). In addition to this, most camps around the world suggest a pool tip of about 5% of the cost of your trip to be divided among the cooks, waiters, maids, drivers, and camp manager. We strive to offer you the greatest bass fishing trip of your lifetime. If we provide it, then we suggest a tip is also in order. If a certain camp employee goes out of his way to make your trip better, then we suggest that you keep that person in mind when tips are distributed. Tip your guide at the end of your fishing trip. Camp tips should be given to the manager just prior to departure. If you have a special tip for a special employee, make sure you give it to him or her personally.
